Services are free of charge, and counseling is available in-person or over the phone. Our counselors will work with you until a resolution is reached by working with your mortgage company, the Cuyahoga County Treasurer's office and any other appropriate parties. We will also identify other resources you may qualify for, including utility assistance, public benefits and home repair programs. Homeowners may be eligible for financial assistance.
1. Sign up for our Foreclosure Prevention intake session

. We recommend that you come with a completed Foreclosure Prevention Intake package, which you can access below, along with all applicable paperwork. (Please call us if you need a copy to be mailed to you.) At this first meeting, you’ll learn what to expect from the process and how we can help. Please come to CHN’s Community Resource Center, 2999 Payne Ave., Suite 134, Cleveland, Ohio, 44114. Free parking is available.
2. Fill out the Foreclosure Prevention application.
Bring the completed application and required documents to your orientation session.
Once you’ve attended orientation and submitted documents, you will meet privately with a housing counselor who will analyze your finances, determine how much you can afford in mortgage payments, and notify the mortgage company that we are assisting you. Your counselor will work with you and the lender, for as long as it takes, to achieve the best possible outcome for your situation.
